Chose carefully who your friends are! This is a good thing to do in general, and without Facebook!
This article is good in one respect: It shows a side of Social Media which is existing and we need to know it. And that Big Brother is watching you is commonly known; it is not a new thing.

Did you know the American Government is now monitoring social networking sites to try to identify immigration fraud? As The Huffington Post puts it, Big Brother really is watching you!

In documents obtained by the Electronic Frontiers Foundation, the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services advises staff how to infiltrate social networks for the equivalent of an “unannounced cyber ‘site-visit’ on a petitioners and beneficiaries”. The document, Social Networking Sites and Their Importance to FDNS [Office of Fraud Detection and National Security] [PDF], states:

“Narcissistic tendencies in many people fuels a need to have a large group of ‘friends’ link to their pages and many of these people accept cyber-friends that they don’t even know. This provides an excellent vantage point for FDNS to observe the daily life of beneficiaries and petitioners who are suspected of fraudulent activities.

-Facebook Photo Tagging- Tagging users in photos and videos is probably one of the most effective promotional activities that you can do. The only challenge is coming up with content to tag users in. The best way to get photos and videos of your fans is through hosting events as I mention in the next tip but if you can’t host events, you’ll need to come up with creative ways to tag your fans. So how do you do that? That’s a bit more complicated but nothing that a creative marketer can’t figure.

One way would be to introduce a contest to your fan page and then tag the winners of those awards in a trophy photo. If you want to take that idea a step further you could actually integrate your fans’ photos into the trophies. This is just one idea though and there are a limitless number of ideas out there. Tagging users is a naturally viral process because as soon as you tag one person, their friends see it and then users are driven to that album which in this case, resides within your fan page.

There is one extremely limiting factor about fan page photos though: you must be a friend of a user to tag them! Yes, it’s unfortunate and honestly I don’t think it makes much sense. While Facebook should enable fan pages to tag members of the page, they haven’t done so yet. Theoretically I could suggest leveraging “guerilla tactics” or overly aggressive techniques to tag members. What are these “guerilla tactics” that I speak of? Well you can figure it out on your own but one example would be adding a fan as a friend for the sole purpose of tagging them in a photo.

I don’t recommend using this technique or any technique similar to this though because you may end up in Facebook jail (a.k.a. getting banned from the site). For the time being I would recommend posting as many relevant photos as possible and tagging those users that are in them. The more tagging that takes place, the quicker your page will spread.

Create a Unique Page Image

-Custom Profile Image- I honestly believe that this is one of the most important components of a fan page. It’s a simple component yet within the confines of a 200 pixel wide box, you would be surprised with the creative ideas that people come up with. Recently Rob Banagale, a guest author on AllFacebook, published an article entitled “5 Creative Ways to Hack Your Facebook Profile Photo“. If you haven’t read it, I suggest you check it out. More impressive than the photos included in the tutorial are the photos that numerous users posted at the end.

I cannot tell you how many standard Facebook Pages I’ve seen in which the basic logo is displayed. If your company has more than one employee (has extra resources), there should be no excuse for not creating an engaging photo for your Facebook Page. It’s one of the first things users look at and it has the potential to leave a lasting impression so make it good!

The photo posted above is a unique user profile photo but I think it illustrates how you can develop creative photos that take advantage of the awkwardly positioned border.

This is an interesting article I found – guess where?- on Facebook of course, to be precise it was on my recent news wall. WEll, that’s where you find all kinds of interesting things about life, business and people.  I hope you like it!

Post Volume And The Passion Factor
This morning I had an interesting thing happen on AllFacebook.  In a matter of minutes I watched thousands of people come to an article which we had published a couple of weeks ago but I couldn’t figure out the purpose.  After searching around, I found out that the Adobe Lightroom page, a Facebook Page dedicated to one of Adobe’s photography products, had posted a link to our article. People link to us all the time though, so what made this particular link so explosive?  There are only two things that I can attribute for this surge of traffic.

Post Volume
After I looked at the Page I noticed that Adobe only published content once a day.  Contrast that with our Facebook Page where we publish upwards of 10 articles in a single day.  Honestly, if we don’t publish a story on our Facebook Page, we won’t get traffic as much of our content is found through people who first discovered a post on our page and then re-shared it with their friends.  The Adobe Lightroom Page appears to generate a massive response though.  All of their fans tend to reshare their posts.  Is this because they post less often?  I doubt it.  Instead, I think there is a much important variable that can be attributed to the massive response.

Passion Factor
The conclusion was that even more significant than post volume, is that the article was targeted at an exceptionally passionate group of people.  Photographers are known for loving their art which is great for people who write about photography.  This “passion factor” also impacts the cost of Facebook ad campaigns.  More passionate people will be more likely to click an ad that’s targeted to them if it’s about their specific passion.  This “passion factor” is extremely important for any marketer as a less passionate group of people will result in smaller results.  So next time you begin to share content, consider going after a segment of the market that’s extremely passionate.

Facebook is not just another social network. It is the granddaddy of all social networks, the definitive social network. Facebook appeals to most all people because of its versatility and ease of use. By far the world’s most popular social network, Facebook has just about as many members as the United States has citizens! A real network marketer will have a Facebook to capitalize on the veritable treasure trove of MLM leads.

Those who know the secrets of Facebook – the power users of the network – are able to generate 20 to 30 leads every day, just by leveraging their presence on the network. With access to so many people, Facebook gives you the ability to exponentially grow your network. And Facebook offers you the chance to do this in an incredibly cost effective method.

Want to harness Facebook for your own revenues? Here are the tips that the power users employ to generate leads using Facebook.

Use Facebook for What It’s Meant to Be

Like all social networks, Facebook is meant to do one thing: social networking. You shouldn’t use Facebook only as a marketing tool. People join Facebook to connect with all their friends, old and new, keep up with colleagues, form relationships and even to find dates. Being someone’s marketing target is never the reason anyone joins Facebook. Use Facebook properly. Make friends. Form relationships. Be friendly. Share information about yourself or what you do. Even find dates but the most important thing is never become a marketing nag. This will cause people to block you out and keep them from ever becoming a prospect for your business. And it wastes your time and efforts.

 Have Fun and Add Value

Use Facebook to enhance other people’s life. Share valuable information about yourself or a subject on which you are knowledgeable. Even pointing people to articles or news items you find interesting can help open that social door to creating a relationship. This helps you find common interests. Have fun and socialize, that’s why people join Facebook, to be social and have a good time. You can send marketing messages, of course, but you don’t want this to be what defines you. Make sure that you are enjoying Facebook. You will find that when you do something you enjoy, you will do it even better. The primary focus of Facebook is not business activity. It’s more like a hangout for friends. Enjoying Facebook as a social outlet is the best way to translate the relationships into business

 Connect with New Contacts

When you get new subscribers or make new connections on other venues, find out if that person is on Facebook. You can send them a friend request and then a personal note. A new fiend you have on twitter just might want to share more information with you and Facebook is the place to do that. This small gesture of “thinking-of-you-and-wanted-to-get-connected” goes a long way in turning that relationship into a warm lead.

Don’t assume you have a connection, you have access to them. Every time you post an article, upload a video or make a business move, all your connections get reminded. You’re not annoying them. Your friends and connections will be appreciative that you are just staying active and sharing information. The more you share the more people learn and want to know more about you. It’s true that people only want to do business with someone they know and trust so build that trust with valuable information.

Facebook will surprise you with its value. As a simple social network, Facebook is just a hotbed of prospects, leads and other marketing activity.

Understanding and employing these key components is just the beginning. Watch the free Facebook Training video and start getting over 20 MLM leads every day using Facebook

Social networking websites became very popular and have created millions of users across the planet.

Why are they so popular?
Well, they are a great platform for businesses and allow to show and market their services and products.

More advantages

Business owners are able to target specific demographics easily which allows  establishing specific advertising and marketing campaigns. It has become that easy! The social networking sites are open for the world.

Facebook alone has already more than 500 million users. It became the leader and started as a college kids picture-sharing site.

How does it help your business specifically?

Facebook helps you reaching the right target audience
Facebook users are from the age of 15 to 85 years. This is a big plus point because you can reach potential buyers in one directory. Normally directories are very specific; Facebook is being used by almost everyone. Your ad campaigns can be optimized and will target specific age groups. You can sort out the information provided by the users and traget them with the correct product. Example: You want to sell car products. One is higher priced than another one. For youngsters you would offer te lower priced one as they can afford only that much but would also like a shiny car. The higer prized product is for the Jaguar and Porsche drivers of the nation which are in general older than 20.

Facebook lets you be connected instantly with existing businesses and potential clients

This is been done through the Facebook message system. If you have a fan page sit lets you update your latest information to your fan community. You can share specials, events or anything important for your service or products to the people who LIKE it.
So you would add Facebook to your usual and successful Marketing actions.

Let’s be honest:  If you are not using Facebook to market your business already, you are seriously missing on a great opportunity.

Ever though of using it for your business?
Then it is time to get a business
Facebook Presence -   Send an email now!

I found this interesting website named www.503me.com because I had a specific question of how to get more visitors to my site. Of course you always can Google your question and in many cases you find an answer but not always. It can get confusing too.
503me.com is a free community site – 100%, and it’s purpose is to handle all questions related to get more visitors to your page. I really like that!

It is for beginners and advanced users and has a nice FAQ section. Why using it? You might find your question already been asked by someone and you will find answers, practical answers. But find out if it is useful for you or not, let me know.

You cannot use it to post your business or blog, so please consider this.

I came across a great Online marketing-tool and I am using it for a while. It shows from where your site visitors are coming from. And not only that, it shows from where exactly they are coming, which means where they have found your blog or website. So I can see if they come from Google, another blog or my main website.
That’s very helpful because normally you don’t know. And why would you want to know it? Well, the builders of Feedjit figured out a way where you as a webmaster or blogger can message your visitors. But you need to upgrade and pay a monthly fee in order to do so. The free version does not contain this issue which is a good one, I must admit.
You can customize feedjit (even the free version) by choosing all kinds of colors, you can adjust the size of the widget too.

If you have a wordpres.com blog you need to use the code from following link: http://feedjit.com/joinimg/ The regular code does not work on the free wordpress sites because of security reasons. It works on blogspot.com very well.
For all other websites it is no problem to feature it, just follow the instructions. See: http://feedjit.com/ to get the code.
